1DCutX, an Excel add-in for design engineers and project managers that optimizes length cutting operations for manufacturers that cut a lot of linear materials.

1DCutX reads data directly from Excel spreadsheets, and instantly generates both the graphical layouts and a detailed cutting report within Excel workbook. 1DCutX can reduce the usage of linear material by 20 to 40 percent, compared to manual cutting.

In addition to minimizing raw material waste, 1DCutX saves time, minimizes production costs, improves factory productivity and reduces the environmental impact of manufacturing products that are made from standard length bars, pipes, beams, and rolls. It allows you to order the proper amount of raw material, and provide customers with accurate quotations in just a few seconds.

Unlike calculation software that requires you to perform calculations in more than one program, 1DCutX does all of its work inside a single Excel workbook. This eliminates errors that result from saving and loading data between multiple software programs.

Saw kerf (thickness) support. Cutting produces the gap between parts that shrinks the result part sizes by a saw thickness.
Controls cut-offs (waste parts) size. Some cutting machines are unable to make a cut on tiny pieces, because of hardware restrictions, like cutting several millimetres from the wood beam or glass.
Supports Diameter for stock and parts. Parts will be cut only from stocks with the same diameter.
Supports Material/Type for stock and parts. Parts will be cut only from stocks with the same material/type.
Incomplete optimization. In some cases the supply of the material is limited and all parts cannot be cut from them.
Supports trim (grip) areas.
Supports Fractional and feet/inch numbers (like 2' 7 1/3").
Supports Layouts Minimization to reduce loading operations.
Supports different (not only 90°) Angle Cuts for pipes and structural materials.
Maximum Layout Size accounts the restriction of how many stocks can be cut simultaneously.
Support leftovers/remnant stocks. If you have waste pieces from previous cutting job you can specify them to be used before standard sized stocks.
