On startup it shows this message and then works with freezes.
All of my other apps (including old EditPad 7.4.0 Pro portable) work without problems.

I have on Windows 10  Enterprise LTSC / VirtualBox: Windows 10 Pro / Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC — works without problem.

I didn't say it doesn't start — it does start, but it gives this message while doing so and then starts freezing.

You can do the following:
Launch the Retail installer on your PC and select unpacking the portable version in the settings. It will definitely work.

Yes, I had «EditPad Pro 8.4.2 Retail Portable by SCloud.WS (Test)» (portable).
And now I just installed "EditPad Pro 8.4.2 Retail" and everything works — no errors, no freezing.

I mean that you don’t have to install it, but simply unpack the portable version (there is such an option in the installer), but in this case the portable version will only work on the device where it was unpacked. If you run it on another device, the version will require you to enter a license…
