PowerRun is a portable freeware to launch regedit.exe, Cmd.exe or other software with the same privileges as the TrustedInstaller / Nt Authority/system Why would you need it? Sometimes it is just not enough to just be running as Administrator, Maybe it’s a file or a registry key that is locked or not editable, PowerRun a tool with this powerfull privilege most likely solve that, PowerRun doesn’t require any installation process or additional dll files.

In order to start using it, simply run the executable file it will load the Regedit.exe, you can check the details tab to verify that the regedit.exe running under SYSTEM Privileges (not necessary). Now just try to delete the locked registry key, if you open the PowerRun.ini file you will see the “TargetApp=%systemroot%\Regedit.exe” line, after editing it like this “TargetApp=cmd.exe” double click the PowerRun.exe will automatically run the cmd.exe

PowerRun’s Cmd Parameters

If you want to add a registry key by using a Registration Entries (.reg) file you can use a parameter like this: “PowerRun.exe C:\_Test_Reg.reg” – it is the same as “regedit.exe C:\_Test_Reg.reg” parameter with TrustedInstaller privileges for example: PowerRun.exe /S C:\_Test_Reg.reg = regedit.exe /S C:\_Test_Reg.reg (Regedit.exe will run with TrustedInstaller privileges)
